The way i see it there's two possibilities: Either GGG implements controller support for PC, or we will use the Steam Controller configuration to map buttons to actions. There are people who are already playing the game using the Steam Controller and specific configurations for Path of Exile. I think we might even be seeing more FPS than that, however right now that's pure speculation. I'm pretty confident the Steam Deck will run PoE just fine (at the 800p 30fps target that Valve is aiming at), given how well the game already runs on Linux.
